Tras el juicio mediático contra su ex mujer Amber Heard, Johnny Depp retomó su carrera artística, no solo por su regreso al cine sino también por la nueva gira de su banda Hollywood Vampires. Sin embargo, un desafortunado incidente preocupó a sus fans y obstaculiza los planes del artista a corto plazo, ya que sufrió una lesión que lo mantendrá alejado por un tiempo de los escenarios.
En un comunicado publicado en Instagram, Depp dijo que se le recomendó “Evitar toda actividad por el momento”. Dirigiéndose a sus fans, explicó: “Mis queridos amigos, lamento decir que me he fracturado el tobillo, ¡lo cual es desalentador! Comenzó como una pequeña dolencia, pero en algún momento entre Cannes y el Royal Albert Hall, empeoró en lugar de mejorar”.
El actor reveló que varios profesionales médicos le han sugerido “Encarecidamente que evite cualquier actividad física” en el corto plazo, por lo que aclaró que lamentablemente no podrá viajar ni estar al frente de sus próximos shows con la banda. Y continuó: “Los muchachos y yo lamentamos mucho que no podamos encontrarnos en New Hampshire, Boston y Nueva York, pero no teman, les prometo que les brindaremos un espectáculo increíble a todos ustedes en Europa y traeremos lo mejor de nosotros a la Costa Este [estadounidense] a finales de este verano y compensaremos a los que han pagado por esos espectáculos. Nuevamente, las más sinceras disculpas. Todo mi amor y respeto”, expresó.

La banda está formada por Johnny Depp, Tommy Henriksen, Alice Cooper y Joe Perry de Aerosmith dijo que reprogramará las próximas tres fechas de su gira por los Estados Unidos y que todas las entradas serán válidas para las nuevas presentaciones, que ocurrirán ahora en julio.
A través de un comunicado compartido en las redes sociales, la formación apuntó: “Johnny ha sufrido una dolorosa lesión en el tobillo después de sus recientes apariciones y su médico le ha aconsejado que no viaje. Está devastado por este giro de los acontecimientos, pero espera descansar para que los cuatro vampiros puedan dar lo mejor de sí mismos en la gira por Europa”.
